Consultation and engagement
We are passionate about engaging people with planning. Our considerable experience of working closely with communities has given us invaluable insight into working positively with local residents and groups to achieve amazing outcomes. We can both lead and assist with engaging local communities and stakeholders in development projects and planning applications of all scales. We pride ourselves on our ability to achieve meaningful outcomes and useable feedback from public consultation.
We can advise on how to combine innovative consultation methods in an integrated and cost-effective strategy, appropriate to your development project. Our methods go beyond the standard ‘public meeting’ approach to achieve inclusive and genuine public engagement in the planning and design process.
Public consultation services we can provide include:
- Organising and delivering community events
- Creative workshops
- Local business meetings
- Publicity, including press releases and circulars
- Workshops with schools and young adults
- Public Q&A sessions
- Surveys and online questionnaires
- Recommendations following engagement
“I never knew town planning or urban regeneration could be such fun! Their enthusiasm and commitment was matched by their professionalism and "blue sky" thinking. Rural or urban the end product fits the client's brief and is produced to time and budget with good grace.”

Tollerton Neighbourhood Plan
Working alongside the Tollerton Steering Group, we conducted a range of consultation events as part of the preparation of their Neighbourhood Plan. Surveys were designed to target different groups and age groups and distributed both by post and online. We ran an online workshop for the local primary school to find out their views on Tollerton, what they liked and how they felt it could be improved.
Bacup Neighbourhood Plan
In the midst of national lockdown, we helped the Bacup Neighbourhood Forum run an online consultation to establish the key issues and options to start to shape their policies. This allowed for local people to share their thoughts on an anonymous platform and also through open debate, whilst ensuring the event produced useful data for the group to take forward.
If you have a project you wish to discuss, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
